THIS POSITION IS FOR A REGULATORY SPECIALIST -(not Real Estate specialist)
Provide support for SoCal Regulatory team to get sites through all Regulatory requirements.
Ideal candidate needs to have full understanding of FAA and FCC requirements, tribal notifications, environmental reports, NEPA, historical checks, etc. to achieve regulatory clearance for a wireless cellular facility.
The applicant must interface with all Network teams: RF Design, Real Estate, System Performance, Network Assurance, Transport, and Construction/Implementation, and HQ Regulatory NEPA.
Applicant must proactively interface and drive behavior from external & internal teams involved in the real estate and regulatory process so that scope of work, documents and approvals can be obtained on a timely basis.
Applicant must follow Telecommunication compliance requirements and State and Federal mandates for all work performed. Furthermore, applicant must be familiar and comfortable with managing financial tasks - PO creations, RNP, OCNR, and match exceptions for any outside regulatory work is all part of this role.
Weekly meetings are expected. Tools such as FUZE SPM and SiteTraker must be kept current with the latest project status, notes, and comments.
Day to day responsibilities involve driving projects forward - partnering with outside firms to make sure the necessary studies (historical, environmental, Phase I, Phase II, biologist etc.) are completed on schedule, negotiating favorable price terms with outside firms, ensuring construction understands any special requirements upon RTC, etc. Applicant must work well under pressure, and can handle frequent urgent projects and requests.
The applicant must be able to read zoning and construction drawings, be familiar with latest federal regulatory guidelines. The applicant must be comfortable working on all project types - small cells, macro sites, in-building, and mods. Familiarity with SiteTraker and FUZE is a big plus. The Regulatory specialist will also attend regular meetings with peers and management to review project status, discuss best practices/process improvement. Regular staff meetings are also attended, as well as special collaboration meetings such as Kanban. Lastly, the applicant needs to work well in a group and be able to manage Scope of Work contractors.
Regulatory Specialist scope:
- Contractor will perform most tasks that Regulatory specialists perform today.
Will be responsible for driving site acquisition, SD PM, legal, and A&E vendor performance, ensuring project trackers are updated, conforming to all Telecommunication leasing, environmental, and regulatory compliance policies.
- Will be responsible for handling all escalations.
- Performance will be measured by NTPs issued. NTPs are issued when leasing, zoning, Regulatory, BP and third party NTPs are complete.
- Will be required to work in multiple systems – Siterra, NetWorkFlow, SiteTraker, TESS
Telecommunication laptop will be issued with access to Telecommunication internal systems.
