Position Description The Systems Architect supports, administrates and maintains the operation of enterprise systems. ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS ? Perform enterprise systems and application support at the highest level of technical expertise mostly independently, but occasionally with assistance from other information technology (IT) professionals and premier support services, of enterprise systems including, Windows servers, file/print services, IIS, SQL, VMware Virtualization server, VDI & Cloud Solution, and Active Directory in addition to the backup and storage resources utilized by these systems. ? Manage the day-to-day operations, monitoring, and performance tuning of an enterprise Active Directory Windows 20xx environment supporting multiple forests, multiple domains, and IT divisions for the entire county. Work with and maintain Active Directory accounts, security groups, group policies, server based shared directories and user permissions. ? Assure adherence to departmental Service Level Agreements. ? Provide on-call support based on a rotation and apply necessary patches during the established monthly weekend patch window. ? Install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot and maintain enterprise server class software and hardware with little or no assistance. This includes file servers and load balanced applications within a high availability environment across multiple data centers. ? With limited supervision, install, configure and support various line-of-business applications using Active Directory or other automation techniques and services. ? Interface with appropriate individuals, which includes contractors and customers both within and external to the IT department, to coordinate support, installation, and maintenance of enterprise systems. ? Maintain backup system and ensure backups are successfully completed, periodically tested, and are in compliance with county policy and industry best practices. ? Assist in maintaining off site inventory and rotation of tapes for disaster recovery. ? Support and Administration of storage and virtual infrastructure.
Skills Required Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of: ? Microsoft Server 2008-2016 OS ? Active Directory administration and best practices ? Office 365 migration and administration ? Exchange, SharePoint and Skype administration Skill in: ? Oral and written communication skills ? Working as a proactive self-starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude ? Time management ? Embracing change and participating in planning both short and long-term goals for evolving business requirements Ability to: ? Take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution ? Effectively troubleshoot systems, provide technical support to level 1 and level 2 support teams ? Make critical decisions on the use of premier support services ? Effectively multitask and follow through on all assigned tasks in a very fast-paced environment ? Consistently meet or exceed expectations on projects and provide guidance on county policies to other departments ? Interact positively and effectively with staff members at all levels within the organization and work with management to resolve critical matters of significance ? Quickly adjust to changes in priorities and manage time effectively with little or no supervision ? Provide on-call 24 X 7 service as part of a rotating schedule, visit data centers in different geographical locations, and apply system patches on the established monthly patch weekend
Skills Preferred
Experience Required POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Minimum education and/or experience: At least five (5) years' experience administering, configuring, managing, Office 365. At least (8) years Active Directory in multi-forest and multi-domain environments. Specialized training, certifications, and/or other special requirements: Must possess, or have the ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license. Must be able to pass extensive background screening. Microsoft certifications a plus.
Experience Preferred
Education Required Preferred education and/or experience: Preferred education and/or experience: Ten (10) years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server OS and Active Directory administration. Five (5) years of experience with Office 365, PowerShell, Microsoft Exchange, and SharePoint. Experience configuring and administering Microsoft SQL 20XX, 20XX, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM). Experience serving as a liaison between the business community and an Information Technology department. Preferred training, certifications and/or other special requirements: This position will have an emphasis on Active Directory migration and administration, Office 365 migration and administration, Microsoft Certifications a plus.
