Senior Network Engineer
We are currently looking for a Senior Network Engineer for a permanent hire in Downtown Jacksonville. The right candidate will be able to pass a drug test and background check. Please note, this is a W2 position. Those who need sponsorship please don’t apply.
Job Function:
  • Directly supports all network equipment and Internet/WAN connectivity
  • Performs regular, routine or emergency maintenance and software upgrades to network equipment
  • Researches issues; plans and deploys software upgrades to remediate or prevent problems
  • Troubleshoots systemic issues, documenting causes and resolving problems to completion
  • Responsible for identifying and documenting project requirements related to network systems
  • Proactively troubleshoots and implements solutions to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements
  • Provides analysis and recommendations for platform upgrades or EOL replacement
  • Contributes to developing IT standards and procedures
  • Supports IT Security programs, including IT Security assessments, vulnerability management, risk analysis, and reporting
  • Ensure the safety of Information Systems Assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction
  • Serves as a liaison or technical resource for others in IT or to partners within other business units
  • May require 24/7 on-call responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree required in a related area
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a technical IT field
  • Subject matter expert (SME) on Cisco networking systems, including NEXUS switching systems, ASA firewalls, and VPN appliances, ISR routers, network security solutions, chassis and stack switching systems for access and distribution layers, and network access control systems
  • Experience in designing and building WAN solutions through MPLS environments, including managing VRF configurations; deploying routing protocols; and implementing traffic prioritization
  • Experience in configuring and deploying network hardware in data centers, business, and retail offices
  • Experience in deploying and supporting wireless networking in campus and business office environments, including configuring and supporting WLCs, LWAPs and NCS/Prime
  • Experience in designing, configuring and supporting LAN and WAN environments to support VOIP and video conferencing, including defining and implementing QoS requirements
  • Experience in deploying systems and applications in load balanced network environments; experience working with F5 systems; Cisco or Riverbed WAN acceleration technologies
  • Knowledge of testing, validating, and implementing new network designs into an existing production, QA and test/development environments
  • Experience developing enterprise implementations to include complex designs, implementations, project plans, schedules, and migration approaches
  • Problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of network systems
  • Experience in managing video conferencing platforms preferred
  • Network performance modeling and benchmarking experience preferred
