Information Security Engineer to join a Cloud Operations Group. 

Permanent Opportunity in San Ramon - Salary 120 - 140k/year
 
We are looking for a candidate who possesses both deep and wide expertise in the information security space especially in a cloud/web operations environment. The Information Security Engineer will be a part of the information security program intended to protect system boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and secure sensitive data. The chosen candidate will be capable of adapting to a fast paced environment and be ready to address shifting priorities as needed. The selected candidate will demonstrate creativity and out of the box thinking to continuously improve the organization's security posture.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Engineer, implement and monitor information security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information
  • Identify and define system security requirements
  • Design system security architecture and develop detailed security designs
  • Prepare and document standard operating procedures
  • Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
  • Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
  • Ensure that the management is apprised of any security incidents in a timely manner
  • Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and proposals for further system security enhancement
  • Participate in on-call schedule
  • Act as security incident manager as needed
Key Requirements:
  • 4+ years of proven work experience as a system security engineer
  • Experience in building and maintaining security systems
  • Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
  • Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, and content filtering
  • Experience with network technologies, and system, security and network monitoring tools
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
  • Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
  • Experience with the following technologies a plus: Tipping Point IPS appliances, OSSEC used for FIM, F5 ASM, SIEM solutions
  • CISSP, CCSP or other related certifications a plus
  • Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of professional development training and experience
