Our client, an international trading company is curently looking for a:

Risk Analyst to join their team.

Would you like to improve our automated trading risk framework and do you have a strong technical and analytical aptitude? Then you might be the new Risk Analyst we're looking for.

What you'll do
As Risk Analyst you are responsible for developing and implementing a standardized framework to identify, measure and monitor principal risks across the firm and to ensure that appropriate protections are in place to prevent the firm from material losses. Furthermore, you are actively employing and strengthening the components of the internal risk management framework.
In short, as our new Risk Analyst, your work will exist of the following aspects:

Enterprise risk management framework
  • Improving our automated trading risk framework by conducting in depth assessment of current controls and identifying areas of improvement.
  • Assist in enhancement of the risk processes by ensuring that the critical risks of the business are appropriately identified, evaluated, addressed, reported and controlled and the business remains within the risk appetite.
  • Facilitate of operational risk event collection, performing detailed reviews of events, tracking of remediation, conducting trend analysis and reporting.
  • Exercise credible, effective and independent challenge as a second line of defense.
  • Coordinate assurance and testing efforts of existing risk controls.
  • Conduct training and raise awareness of the operational risk framework including automated trading risk.
  • Contribute to the advancement of ERM risk methods and practices.
  • Assist in the advancement of the disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Internal and external requirements
  • Support the risk driven initiatives related to the implementation of MIFID II.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from trading and technology in strengthening and developing the risk framework and its individual components, as well as drive the delivery of new initiatives balancing the right risk and reward.
  • Conduct assessments of third party risk protections and integrating into current risk framework.
  • Contribute to the annual capital adequacy process and reporting to the Dutch Central Bank.
New Business
  • New business activities assessment to ensure risks arising from new products, activities, markets are properly mitigated.
Who you are
  • You have an university degree with analytical orientation.
  • You have 2-5 years of experience in a trading environment at a financial institution or consulting firm.
  • You are an energetic and analytical self-starter with experience in trading, listed derivatives and control requirements, along with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • You are proficient in Python and VBA. Working experience with large data sets is a plus.
  • You have a strong technical and analytical aptitude to be able to understand and assess business and technical problems.
  • You have a risk management and control mindset.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and are able to present with impact and clarity.
  • You are a self-starter: independent and pro-active with a strong delivery focus.
