IT Systems Operations Manager

We seek an IT Systems Operations Manager in Jacksonville, FL for a permanent direct hire opportunity. 
We cannot sponsor or transfer visas.  You will be responsible for IT Core Systems operations 24/7 over a team of 15.  The IT Systems Operations Manager will have a nice mix of hands-on management and technical skills with core applications and systems.

 
IT Systems Operations Manager RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Strategic direction for the operation of mainframe and Windows-based systems.
  • Level II and level III support for applications and application computing environments.
  • Completion of day-end, month-end and year-end mainframe processing
  • Manage on-call rotation to support, schedule staff, etc.
  • Develop procedures for standardized, efficient IT operations and applying automation
  • Disaster Recover
  • Manage, maintain and balance annual operational budget and creates staffing recommendations.
  • Perform daily monitoring to ensure capacity exists on servers and peripherals to support daily business needs.
  • Manage preventative maintenance of windows and mainframe system and application environments as well as upgrade and patch distribution. 
  • Monitor system performance, analyzes utilization trends and take necessary actions to mitigate bottlenecks and potential outages.  Escalate issues to on-call technical teams for remediation.
  • Evaluate server hardware and software solutions.  recommends solutions for improvement
  • Systems monitoring, upgrades, health-checks and backups. 
  • Establish proactive maintenance, support and refresh processes to ensure minimum downtime.
  • Identify and assess risks, implement controls to manage identified risks.  
  • Creates processes to ensure controls are functioning and regularly reviewed.
  • Assets to data centers, maintain access control to these locations
  • Physical organization and appearance of the data center(s), including cooling
  • Contract reviews, negotiations and vendor performance tracking.
  • Inventory of assets
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience
  • 8+ rears of experience managing IT operations, data centers with a Windows & mainframe mix
  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and administration related roles (systems administration, engineering, etc.).
  • Leadership skills in coaching and developing employees to deliver their best
  • The following professional certification is required: ITIL v3 Foundation Certification.
  • Must have experience with mainframe computing (IBM, Client, Client) at the administrative and management level
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Windows Server 2003-2012, MS Exchange 2010-2013, Active Directory and Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
  • Working knowledge of databases specifically Microsoft SQL
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of virtualization concepts, VMWare, Microsoft Hyper-V and Citrix technologies
  • Experience with automation technologies such as Automate, SMA OpCon
  • Experience with data replication strategies, Storage Area Networks and enterprise backups.
  • Knowledge of cloud solutions such as infrastructure as a service (IAAS), platform as a service (PAAS) and software as a service (SAAS).
  • Must be fluent with Microsoft Word, Visio, Project, Power Point and Excel
