Summary
 
We are looking for a Solutions Architect who can create and provide solutions within a broad variety of enterprise computing infrastructures as well as public and private Cloud computing technologies. This individual should also be comfortable conducting evaluations of technology standards, tools, products, and solutions to make rational design decisions from business and technical perspectives to provide recommendations associated with platform design modifications.

When required, the candidate would define guidelines and provide recommendations based on leading industry best practices associated with specific infrastructures and/or platforms. The Solutions Architect will maintain responsibility for defining the technical strategy of a system, while working closely with all stakeholders to vet technology decisions that support product capabilities now and for the future as they provide leadership for the successful execution of their strategies. 

This role will focus on identifying emerging and disruptive technology vendors, products, and solutions. The incumbent will be responsible for managing and cultivating relationships with these vendors to drive innovation.
 
This role will be responsible for presenting recommendations to senior leadership at various level of the organization. The role will use data analytics and make strategic decisions regarding trends in technology and services to implement change.

Core Responsibilities:   
  • Provide strategic direction and thought leadership for driving technology transformation through strategic vendor partnerships.     
  • Work with teams to incubate and accelerate validation of technologies. Facilitate integration of new technology into the current ecosystem.
  • Influence new software delivery models like micro services, methodologies, and roadmaps driving change.  
  • Identify new technologies for various application areas under IT and Network domains.   
  • Enable an agile and simplified onboarding process for emerging suppliers.
 
You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/quantitative discipline or more than six years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in defining and implementing strategy in the Big Data/Analytics domain.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience in Big Data related technologies - Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Spark etc.
  • Six or more years of software development experience, including Java, Python, and API development (REST, XML, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Azure and cloud tools and technologies
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning.
  • Knowledge of relational and no-SQL databases.
  • Experience with creating analytical data sets.
  • Experience with visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies in multiple verticals.
  • Technical knowledge of market trends, innovation, tools and technologies.
 
Even better if you have:
  • Master's degree and/or an MBA.
  • Expert in creating business case, use cases, storytelling and driving change.
  • Excellent communication, writing, presentation, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Works efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work successfully in a cross functional team environment.
  • Experience in SAS, SQL, and statistical modeling.
  • Strong mathematical background with knowledge of one or more of the following fields: statistics, data mining, operations research, econometrics, and/or information retrieval (machine learning and natural language processing is a plus).
  • Working knowledge of relevant software packages for statistical analyses and visualization. Potential tools include Tableau, Qlik, SQL Server, R, and Python.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the design, development and implementation of data solutions across a variety of data management platforms and architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience with master data management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with relational data warehouse design and management.
  • Knowledge of Agile Development practices, continuous integration and automation testing.
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure-as-a-service platforms: AWS, Google Compute Engine, Azure, Soft Layer, OpenStack, etc…
  • Working knowledge of machine learning techniques, distributive computing tools (Spark, Hive, etc.) and Hadoop.
  • Demonstrated ability to create clear and detailed technical diagrams and documentation.
  • Knowledge of the startup process and market analysis for products and services.
  • Advance user of MS applications, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, meet deadlines, simultaneously work on multiple projects.
