Central Point Partners seeks Senior Quality Assurance Analyst in San Francisco, CA (& other US locations as needed)
  • Participate in project initiation to develop implementation concepts, capture ideas, and remove ambiguity.
  • Review, analyzes analyzes, and evaluates functional aspects and data requirements of an application or system to meet business and user needs, document accordingly.
  • Participate in the design, construction, QA, and implementation phases of an application and/or system development project (collaborative team member providing support as needed).
  • Participate in defect rationalization.
  • Produce clear and concise Product requirements articulating user experience, use cases, functional and non-functional requirements based on sound software development standards.
  • Drive engineering knowledge transfer.
  • Act as team member of the product release team.
  • Represent Product Manager in tactical manners to ensure product release requirements are met.
  • Escalate to Product Manager as necessary.
  • Initiate and drive fitness for use testing.
  • Develop internal knowledge transfer for support, sales support, deployment support, etc.
  • Develop product release bulletin content.
  • Review release documentation (release notes, user documentation, etc.).
  • Advocate for customer use cases and deployment scenarios.
  • Monitoring for deviations against customer & release expectations.
  • Research industry standards and practices, develop solutions accordingly (i.e x9.37, BITS, NACHA, etc.).
  • Perform reviews on peer's specifications.
  • Create customer facing specifications for customization requests.
  • Participate in solution evaluation and coordinate effort estimates for customization requests.
  • Interview customer/perform requirements clarification to remove customization requests ambiguity. Communicate solution suggestions and risks.
  • Creation of outbound proposal (initial scope determination, risks, assumptions and estimation results).
  • Create rationalization recommendations - monitor for release candidates, candidates not ideal for past release code branches, etc. Research solution options and alternatives.
  • Scope management- monitor & escalate for events in which the customer deviates from the intended scope. Escalate accordingly.
  • Participate in investigation and research/development activities.
  • Develop recommendations for solutions and integration strategy.
  • Answer RFP and RFI questions as needed.
  • Build demos/mock ups as needed.
  • Owning the defect management process, including logging, reviewing, categorizing, prioritizing, resolving, verifying, and closing bugs and communicate test progress to project stakeholders and management.
  • Collaborate with the Testing Manager to create and establish testing road maps, tool selection and identifying and implementing continuous process improvement.
  • Define test strategies, test scripting, and test approaches for the team.
  • Participating in and advising during requirements and design project phases, thoroughly understanding business needs and ensuring comprehensive testing scenarios are performed.
  • Serving as Subject Matter Expert and act as an information resource for assigned areas.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 2 years of experience in IT quality assurance and systems/application testing.

Requires skills in: Client Quality Center 9.2, Quick Test Professional 9.2, Mainframe, ATM/POS Testing, Functional Testing, TSOISPF, File Aid IMS, File Aid, Data Expert, SPUFI, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS IMS, DB2 OS 390, ZOS, Windows, HTML, and Share Point.

Domestic travel required to client sites as needed.

Must also have authority to work permanently in the U.S.
