The Regional IT Support Engineer II will support the delivery of information technology services to their designated region's manufacturing plants, distribution centers, sales offices, call centers, and auxiliary facilities. They will work as part of the Regional and Global IT teams supporting, but not limited to; application use, infrastructure initiatives, telecom and network issues, printing solutions, and customer issue triage.

Our client is looking for someone with the abilities to work as part of a new rapidly growing team in a fast moving and challenging operations environment, reporting to the Regional IT Support Manager. The Support Engineer will provide regional IT support for remote and on-site users in line with agreed procedures and expected support levels. The primary duties of this individual will be performed in the local regional office and with regular planned travel in support of activities and training within their region. Occasionally, this position will have a shared responsibility of extended support which may include on-call evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing a professional, courteous, and rapid response to IT users including and up to extended end-user training
  • Scheduling preventative maintenance activities such as parts replacement and upgrades
  • Serving as customer contact on IT technical and service related problems
  • Assisting in the compilation and maintenance of an accurate inventory of hardware and software tools by site by region
  • Ensuring local IT stock is kept up to date and coordinate shipment of parts
  • Assisting with new office IT setups, relocations, and closures as well as M&A
  • Deploying and maintaining existing IT assets and associated peripherals, installation and configuration of software, support of infrastructure modifications and upgrades
  • Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the business and IT
  • Assistance in maintaining location documentation for network documentation for supported sites
  • Researching, testing, and evaluating emerging technologies
  • Diagnosing mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures
  • Determining the most cost-effective repair or resolution to minimize customer downtime
  • Undertake such other duties, training, and hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job

Educational Requirements:
  • High School diploma, or equivalent required
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred, BA/BS degree in technical field a plus
Preferred Experience:
  • 3-5 years relevant IT field service experience with end-user troubleshooting skills or training
  • Experience in a service desk or other service-oriented IT role
  • Experience working in a complex operational environment
  • Experience with computers, mobile devices, and wireless technology
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to move objects up to 25 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to travel 2-3 days per week, domestically or internationally
