Duties:
  • The Principle Enginer will be involved in structural analyses for a broad spectrum of aircraft and industrial components and systems. Indiviudal will execute and participate in projects as analyst and team player by leveraging extensive technical expertise and tool knowledge in basic and advanced Stress/FEM analysis.
  • Develops or participates in the development of project objectives and plan by reviewing technical requirements (e.g. technical and commercial project proposals; customer statements of work) and conferring with team members and management, as applicable.
  • Evaluates project specifications/proposals by studying product or system design and customer technical program requirements (including performance, service and support, and data requirements).
  • Ensures consistent engineering standards, processes, and documentation methods are used in project deliverables. Establishes and maintains engineering history files, project files, and related information to provide archive of technical project activities.
Qualifications:
  • Approximately 10+ years experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor degree (BS) in Mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline; advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) preferred.
  • Has thorough in-depth knowledge of stress/FEM analysis of aerospace structures/components and related principles, industry practices, concepts, techniques, government regulations, and policies.
  • Fully versed in linear static, nonlinear static, modal, harmonic, random vibration, frequency response, transient response, impact analysis, fatigue and fracture mechanics analyses.
  • Experienced user of ANSYS Workbench (lmpliciUExplicit), ANSYS Mechanical APDL, LS-DYNA and CATIA v5. Familiarity with NASGRO is a plus.
  • Experience in composite and FRP (Fibre Reinforced Plastic) materials and ability to apply broad knowledge of other related engineering or scientific fields to area of expertise is a plus.
