Duration: 9 – 12 months – potential contract to hire; The candidate may have the option to work onsite for the first month and then remotely for the remainder of the contact.


Our client is looking for 3 Quality Assurance Automation Engineers with strong background in writing and creating scripts. Having Selenium and Eclipse is also a plus.
Ideally, Java Script experience is preferred but if they know Visual Basic – we could probably train the associate on .Net within a few weeks. Aside from there the only items I would tag as preferred but not required would be SQL(we uses databases and query from time-to-time) and if they have ever created automated tools of any variety in the past(jUnit, Arquillian, SilkTest, QTP, etc).

The Quality Assurance Automation Engineer I I will design and implement test automation framework and processes, while adhering to established standards. This role is responsible for the coordination, development, documentation, execution, and maintenance of automated solutions and code to ensure quality control standards are achieved. This position also works in collaboration with IT and business partners, to meet the objectives of the organization and to make continuous improvements to minimize manual processes, maximize testing coverage, and reduce testing cycle time.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Automates manual test cases by designing, developing, and executing reusable and maintainable automated solutions and code by Visual Scripting and/or advanced programming language.
  • Utilizes and integrates industry standard automated testing tools to perform analysis, verification, and validation in an integrated development environment.
  • Manages minor to small sized projects.
  • Works with the development and quality assurance teams to understand how changes in the software and business products affect maintenance of test scripts and the testing environments.
  • Analyzes testing results to investigate root causes of issues. Determines severity and scope of scripting issues to guide prioritization for resolution.
  • Applies testing methodology, software testing principles, concepts, verification, validation techniques, and product knowledge in the creation of automated solutions.
  • Maintains high quality standards within the automation code.
  • Assists with the maintenance of automation utilities, web pages, and tools.
  • Collaborates with automation team members by assisting, sharing knowledge and being receptive to input.
Other Duties
  • Available to provide on-call support after hours and on weekends as necessary.
  • Performs other special projects or duties as assigned.

Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Basic knowledge in automated test methodologies, software testing principles, concepts, verification, and validation techniques.
  • Basic knowledge and experience of a least one of the following languages: JAVA, VB.NET.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with web development languages: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with SQL with regard to writing and understanding queries and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of object oriented design principles specifically developing functions, adding control flow logic, loops, etc.
  • Ability to explain and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent, productive pace in a changing technical environment.
  • Ability to effectively lead, present, and facilitate meetings.
  • Ability to generate creative solutions and apply design principles.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a changing technical environment.

Education and Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or education.
  • 1-3 years of experience in software developing or designing and developing automated test scenarios, via VB.NET or JAVA.
  • 1-3 years business-related experience preferred.
  • Financial services and customer service experience preferred.
