Job Description
  • Duties include responsibility for involvement in all software development life cycle activities or conduct of technical/trade studies under very limited supervision and for providing detailed direction/guidance to subordinate engineers, involving software requirements analysis, software design, code, test, verification, documentation and product release tasks per the Client/IEC software process.
  • Perform task assignments of high degree of complexity requiring knowledge of Flight Test Instrumentation/SSBN system principles/ concepts of range operation, military standards, and R&D.
  • Responsible for development of Instrumentation Systems software product designs which satisfies all System Specification performance requirements within given customer cost & schedule constraints.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring of lower-level software engineers as required.
  • Direct/analyze/evaluate hardware/software laboratory integration tests and support verification of embedded software products.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, EE, Math or equivalent experience in technical discipline required; Master's degree a plus.
  • Skills in software project management, designer of real time embedded FTI/SSBN data processing systems, hardware/software interfaces, communication protocols, HW/SW testing, C/C++ programming, PVCS source management tools, host PC/Linux development environment/tools, and WR RTOS targeted for PPC processor.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills are a must.
  • 10-15 years working experience in designing real time embedded software products & working experience applying ISO/T9001B processes throughout SW development life cycle.
  • MBSE - technical lead for project teams developing military GPS , Navigation and Timing systems which include military GPS receivers with an emphasis on Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Develops and applies advanced engineering theories, methods, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems through Modeling
  • Knowledge or successful use of architectural frameworks and military GPS, signal processing, electronic engineering and/or RF designs a plus.
  • Requires a strong systems engineering technical background to lead technical efforts of project development.
