Job Description
  • The Computational Platform Engineer will assist in virtual and physical platform development and support within the engineering organization.
  • Development environments consist of XenServer 6x, XenApp/Desktop 7.x with GRID vGPU/pGPU, with RHEL/Centos 6, Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2.
  • Additional responsibilities will include development and support of a High-Performance Computing (HPC) Infrastructure, consisting of ZFS Unified Storage, RDMA InfiniBand Fabric, and HTCondor processing Nodes.
  • Overall, the candidate will assist in platform support for private and public cloud based training solutions and engineering development environments.
  • Candidate should be self-motivated and possess the ability to collaborate effectively with teams to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
  • Candidate should possess in depth knowledge of diagnostics tools for infrastructure performance analysis.
  • Develop/support ZFS based SAN and NAS storage
  • Develop/support Virtual Infrastructure Platforms (XenServer, VMware, Azure)
  • Develop/support Citrix Suite, including XenApp/XenDesktop (MCS/PVS), StoreFront, Profiles, and NetScaler.
  • Develop/support Windows/Linux OS's in Engineering Development Environments and HPC Environment.
  • Develop cold start/cold boot procedures for system deployment
  • Identify potential risks and issues, make and implement recommendations to management when escalation is required.
  • Define and maintain systems process documentation.
  • Identify Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on system performance issues.
  • The ideal candidate will possess experience with many/most of the skills listed below, and be willing to cross-train in other areas, as needed.
  • Desired skills include Unified Storage, Diskless boot (FC/iSCSI), Networking Concepts, Private and Public Cloud Management such as XenServer/vSphere with GRID graphics(vGPU/pGPU), and Azure.
  • Strong experience with Windows and Linux, XenApp/XenDesktop 7x, Storefront, Provisioning Server, and Cyber Security.
  • Candidates should possess a strong background in heterogeneous environments, and be familiar with Identity Management, including Active Directory and LDAP/NIS (RFC2307) as well as NAS trivial and non-trivial ACL management.
  • ¿Experience with Win/Lin scripting a plus.Bachelors in CS, EE, or related Engineering discipline, and/or equivalent experience/training
  • 5+ years' experience in many/most of the following areas:
  • Unified Storage devices
  • XenServer or VMware
  • Citrix XenApp/Desktop technologies
  • L2/L3 networking
  • Windows administration
  • Linux administration
  • Cyber Security – STIG/ACAS/RMF/IA
  • Must be effective at time management, facilitating meetings, planning, execution, risks identification, management, and mitigation.
  • Ability to prepare resource, effort, and time estimates with a high degree of reliability.
  • Results driven with experience working in collaborative environments across organizations.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks accordingly.
