Job Description
  • The Production Planner is a diverse position covering the planning, scheduling, and tracking of workflow from the engineering department through the manufacturing department.
  • This position receives drawing packages and requirements from engineering personnel, adds planning data, generates parts requisitions, enters the packages into the company MPS system, copies, assembles, distributes, and further prepares drawing packets for manufacture.
  • This position will be the focal point in creating a production scheduling system for the program.
  • The Production Planner creates, tracks, and reports on the current production status of released components.
  • This position functions as a liaison between Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Shipping/Receiving departments.
  • It is a focal point among all departments to effectively communicate and help meet project requirements.
  • The Production Planner coordinates with Process Engineers on development of process plan need dates.
  • The Production Planner analyzes project information and requests received from engineering personnel
  • via an engineering-change-notice (ECR) or Notice of Revision (NOR), then effectively communicates the requirements to purchasing and manufacturing personnel.
Education/Experience
  • The candidate must be Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, honest, and thorough.
  • A versatile, selfstarter with a positive attitude, who is cautiously assertive.
  • Ability to modulate with a dynamic workload: From heavy multi-tasking during peak workloads - to very focused, detail-oriented work during critical projects.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills are required.
  • Team attitude; eager to cooperate with others with exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis.
  • Must be familiar with Excel, Microsoft Project and Costpoint
  • BS in Business management of Operations management
