Successful candidate will interact with the Attitude Control System and Reaction Control System vendors, help select the best vendors and assist with design trades, and master the operations of each of these systems with the help and instruction from the vendors. As Harness engineer you will be expected to design the cabling that connects the electronics together, work with vendors or technicians to fabricate it, and execute testing of the harness and support integration and test of the entire spacecraft. Documenting design features, writing test procedures and flight operations procedures will also be expected.
Requirements:
  • Expertise at basic electrical and mechanical engineering and hands on experience with designing, implementing and testing hardware.
  • Some knowledge of Python, Linux and at least a little C/C++ is required.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills are required to stay in synch with the rest of the team.
  • Familiarity with or desire to learn about Attitude Control System hardware/software, cold gas thrusters, and harness design/layout/fabrication is needed.
  • Clear, concise writing ability.
  • Experience working in a small team demonstrating collaboration, leadership and hands-on execution.
Desired Traits:
  • CubeSat experience or previous small/micro satellite experience is highly desired.
  • Engineering or science degree strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands on experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with deep space missions is desired but not required. Familiarity with dynamics and control theory or strong interest in learning is desired.
  • Ability to solder, work with pin crimping tools and other fabrication techniques would be beneficial.
Must be a U.S citizen and able to pass a pre-employment drug and background check.
