Job Description
  • We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Test Equipment Fabrication Technician in the Test Equipment Engineering group at our Torrance, California location.
  • In this full-time hourly position you will develop, build and modify equipment used to test electronic, electrical, and electro-mechanical components and systems; this will include determining the layout of circuitry and the design and fabrication of new test equipment, as well as repairing and updating existing units to enhance performance and usability.
  • You'll determine the best methods of test equipment construction, review design drawings and schematics for discrepancies, and recommend changes in test equipment fabrication and design processes.
  • You will need at least five years of electronics experience, with a strong background in mechanical fabrication.
  • Knowledge of electronic parts and circuitry.
  • Experience in prototyping and laying out circuit boards.
  • Ability to work from schematics, engineering specifications, data sheets, and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in the proper use of hand tools and power tools (such as drills), as well as other necessary equipment such as multimeters.
  • Good communication skills are necessary in order to work effectively with team members, supervisors, and other employees.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal and Plexiglas fabrication processes and prior experience building electronic test stations is preferred.
  • A relevant associate's degree is a plus.
