Job Description:

Our client is growing their team and looking for a great SQL Developer that has extensive experience supporting an Oracle environment and also has some lite Java coding experience. This person will be part of an agile software development team in Salt Lake City, UT. This role will focus on development of stored procedures, functions and SQL scripts for Oracle Databases.

  • Primary deliverable is working with complex data and SQL development.
  • Experience designing, coding, testing and maintaining database objects, tables, views, packages, functions, procedures, and indexes.
  • Experience translating requirements into technical specifications to be created using Oracle 11g/12c, SQL Loader, PL/SQL and SQL.
  • Expertise in Oracle performance tuning, including coding for high performance with highly variable queries.
  • Create and perform unit testing of all code developed.
Required Skills:
  • 5+ years of recent SQL development experience
  • Experience coding complex stored procedures (using SQL)
  • 3+ years of Product Development experience in an Oracle environment
  • Must know SQL inside and out
  • Hands-on experience writing product code
  • Experience in database lifecycle management techniques and automated build and deployment
  • Solid core Java expertise and understanding
  • Experience working in an Agile environment is crucial and required
Bonus/Soft Skills:
  • PL/SQL experience
  • Current knowledge in the healthcare industry and HL7 standard is a huge plus. Must have ability to learn and develop expertise in healthcare with a focus on medical and clinical information
  • Experience using LiquiBase Changelogs for code management and deployment
  • Experience in one or more Java frameworks such as Spring (or Struts)
  • Experience with Web Frameworks is a plus
  • Experience with web based service architecture and application development
  • Positive, optimistic, "can-do” attitude and being a thoughtful and respectful listener
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
