Job Description
  • The successful candidate will support technical management in the following areas: US/UK
  • SSBN Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Cable Running Sheet changes, the work control process, and issue package updates
  • Data Requirement and Cabling Coordination document change control process and policy documents
  • Perform independent technical analysis of Data Requirement and Cabling changes to verify accuracy and present findings to senior engineer for final disposition and deployment (as required)
  • Data Requirement and Cabling impact analysis resulting from Interface Coordination (i.e., subsystem interfaces) changes
  • Cabling packages include: Analyze change requests for technical accuracy and ensuring the SWS and Attack Weapon System (AWS) missions are not impacted by proposed changes
  • Create and distribute changes to required stakeholders
  • Consolidate and resolve comments to obtain technical approval
  • Submit changes to the SSP (US Government) for approval
  • Following approval, incorporate change into the base document as a new document revision
  • Facilitate communication between contractors and government personnel to achieve technical resolution
  • Assist in the facilitation of quarterly Data Requirements Working Group or Critical Design Reviews
  • Security Clearance Requirements: Active DoD Clearance
  • Basic knowledge of cabling principles and data formats
  • Basic electronic background
  • Experience with reading cable running sheets, wiring lists, and wiring tables
  • Experience in requirement development, traceability, and analysis
  • Experience in research, problem solving, and Analysis
  • Must be detail orientated
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team or independently
  • Good technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat markup tools and MS Office
  • Ability and willingness to travel to local customer meetings and offsite to contractors for meetings
  • Experience with preparing/delivering presentations for government and contractor personnel
  • Experience presenting technical information to small groups (<25) and large groups (>75)
  • Experience working in DoD environment
  • Understanding of IEEE standards and engineering drawing requirements
  • Exhibited negotiation skills
  • Minimum of 5 years experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience working with project lifecycle management (PLM) tool (i.e., PTC Windchill)
  • Experience working with requirements management tool (i.e., IBM DOORS)
  • Familiar with the SWS/AWS and Strategic System Programs (SSP) policies/processes
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience
