DevOps Engineer

6 month contract to hire

Pay Range: $50.00 - $60.00per hr

Job Description:

Our client is looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to assist in automating, deploying and supporting SaaS and on-premise solutions. This is an agile engineering team that is also going to need extra attention on AWS.
  • Understanding of the platforms application functionality, system flow and technology infrastructure(AWS , Jenkins, Docker)
  • Develop and demonstrate detailed, proactive ownership for supported systems, includingconfigurations, monitoring and documentation and process improvement
  • Work closely with Development counterparts on requirements, issue identification and resolution, problem solving and planning related to production issues and software releases
  • Develop release and implementation plans and maintain internal documentation
  • Identify security and performance issues at multiple layers of deployment for applications
  • Provide feedback and guidance to product development teams on adherence to policies, standards, and operational best practices
  • Ability to code and script
  • Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
Required Skills:
  • 3+ years of recent DevOps experience
  • Good understanding of DevOps flows, challenges, etc.
  • Docker
  • Cloud hosting technology - AWS administration, configuration and implementation experience
  • Agile/Scrum
  • Web Server Administration and configuration (Linux - nginx / MS - IIS)
  • Linux (Ubuntu)
  • Strong scripting experience (Bash, python, PHP)
  • Experience with deployment tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience with source control tools - Git, GitHub, Bitbucket
  • Relational Database Development (MySQL)
Bonus/Soft Skills:
  • Virtualization experience, Jira/Confluence, CI framework
  • Strong organizational, communication, time management skills and a capacity for attending to
  • Knowledge of development principles, methods and processes
  • Proficient with problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent industry experience
