Job Description

  • GBS Supply Chain is seeking a high performing candidate to join the Proposal and Automation Solutions team within the GBS SC Operations group.
  • This position will provide support to both the Proposal Solutions and Automation teams.
  • Proposal Solutions assists all Client Businesses with their internal and external proposal quoting requirements for commodities covered by Client Enterprise Procurement Services.
  • We strive to enable the business proposal teams to be more nimble, utilize the Client procurement leverage to obtain more attractive pricing, and ensure a smoother transition from proposal to procurement execution following award.
  • The Automation Solutions team provides leadership in purchase order automation solution identification/implementation, process standardization, execution, and management across all business system platforms including SAP AutoPO, and WebBuyer/SRM.
  • This role will provide support to the proposal team including but not limited to, preparing requests for proposal (RFPs), conducting supplier follow-up for open proposals and other duties as assigned by the proposal team.
  • This role will also provide support to the automation team with but not limited to the following activities, conducting supplier order follow-up, ensuring all purchase orders are accepted in a timely fashion, working with suppliers to resolve any order placement issues, and other duties as assigned by the automation team.
  • Prepare requests for proposal (RFPs) per program requirements
  • Conduct supplier follow-up for open proposals
  • Conducting supplier order follow-up
  • Review order status, work with suppliers to ensure all purchase orders are accepted in a timely fashion
  • Coordinating with suppliers to resolve any order placement issues
  • Other duties as assigned by the proposal and/or automation teams
  • Supply Chain experience
  • Strong communication, meeting facilitation, collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated experience and success in dealing with multiple suppliers across multiple commodities
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work multiple, competing priorities at the same time
  • SAP knowledge and experience
