Job Title: UX Design Engineer 2-Contingent
Job Summary
This position provides leadership in information and communication services that enable the Church to prepare the way to hasten the Lord's work as it relates to application design. This position fundamentally identifies, documents, and demonstrates the optimal user experience through design activities/deliverables, which are aligned with the business requirements and solution scope. May work with a variety of software development teams. The role of the user experience designer is complementary to and synergistic with the role of the business and functional analysts. Takes on design tasks across multiple projects.
The Interaction Designer is an assigned member of a Project Team within a portfolio and is accountable for the following activities:
  • Encourages a culture of user-centered design and knowledge sharing
  • Communicate visually through drawings, diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, flow charts, etc.
  • Participates in user testing and validation
  • Support for design activities as needed
Key Relationships: UX Manager, Product Manager, Program Manager, ICS Project Team
This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.
Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in design, CS, MIS, or related field.
  • Typically has up to 3 years of professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and Adobe Design.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript.
  • Introduction to processes and methods (i.e. Agile, Scrum).
