Sr. System Test Engineer

Location: Ventura County, CA

Duration: Direct

Compensation: DOE

We are searching for an experienced Sr. Systems Engineer to work directly for a client of ours in the Ventura County Area, CA. This position will be responsible for supporting the development, design, integration, and testing of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and payloads. You will support defining and allocating system, software, hardware, and test requirements and verification methods; develop and maintain subsystem test validation & verification plans and procedures; perform environmental, EMC, ground functional, and flight testing of UAS systems and payloads; write test reports per IEC/industry best practices to document system test results; support proposals as directed by program management and business development; lead integration and test team consisting of systems test engineers and flight test pilots; and support system design activities by advising design engineers on Design for Test (DFT) for systems. Required:
  • Requires Engineering B.S. degree plus Aero/Mech/Electrical/Systems Master's Degree a plus
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering disciplines, particularly Systems Test
  • 7-12 years' experience, Aerospace and/or UAV experience a plus
  • Strong analytical and concept design skills
  • Strong computer skills including Windows applications and Design tools
  • Must have a working knowledge of integrating and testing avionics systems such as computers, radios, GPs, payloads and flight controls
  • Must have knowledge of requirements verification and validation methods
  • Ability to be granted a DOD Secret or higher clearance is required

Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills are required for this position. Strong listening, questioning, clarifying and summarizing skills to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group setting.
