SUMMARY:
The Quality Manager is responsible for facilitating, managing, and leading the Company/Plant Quality Control Department and programs. Inaddition, this individual will be responsible for ensuring that all Company, Suppliers and co-manufacturing, facilities, products and systems are in compliance with any and all applicable Regulatory and Quality control regulations and standards .


REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or Dairy Science with a minimum 7 years food quality assurance experience with a technical expertise is required.
  • Dairy (short shelflife) experience required.
  • Bachelor'sdegree in Biology or Microbiology will also be strongly considered.
  • Experience in the Food or Beverage manufacturing environment will be considered.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Statistical Quality Control [SQC} procedures, Food Manufacturing Sanitation principles, food safety, regulatory compliance, USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMPs, OSHA, labeling regulations, ISO, SQF, Auditing and customer & government audits.
  • Must be assertive and high energy.

REsrQNSIBn.ITIEs I Durms:
  • Manages plans and coordinates the company's quality control program as to ensure continuous production/service and consistency with established standards in support of the company's business strategy.
  • Manages the quality control laboratory activities and staff as well as product development and analysis of statistical data and specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy.
  • Participates in the development of new products and the improvement of existing products.
  • Facilitates a self-directed quality assurance team.
  • Trains, coaches, mentors, empower, and develop team members.
  • Coordinates team involvement activities to drive "continuous quality improvement " processes.
  • Directs technical procedures and safety associated with process control, finished product quality GMPs.
  • Leads the quality-sanitation function including administration of safety, training and labor/supplies budgets.
  • Develops auditing programs for sanitation activities to assure regulatory compliance.
  • Provides technical assistance to production, logistics, purchasing and sales.
  • Needs to possess a desire to move to a higher level of responsibility, i.e. plant manager, director or V.P. level in R&D or quality assurance.
  • Effectively communicates thoughts, ideas and vision to all levels of the organization.
  • Must have exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Manages customer complaint program.
  • Manages Raw Materials/Ingredients and packaging testing and auditing program.
  • Manages the Produced & Co-Packing Raw Material, Packaging material and Finished Product requirements and protocol.
  • Keeps abreast of all state and national matters affecting our industry through close contact with trade associations and professional and industrial groups.
  • Reviews operations and confer with technical or h!!---------- production or processing problems.



  • Reviews processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Coordinates and recommends procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification , including the replacement of machines.
  • Directs and coordinates production, processing, distribution, and marketing activities of industrial organization.
  • Prepares and maintains production reports and personnel records.
  • Performs any additional duties requested by Management.
  • Follows all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Adheres to all SQF (Safe Quality Food) code standards and protocol.
  • Reports all Food Safety and Food Quality issues immediately.
