General Purpose:
Responsible for supervising personnel and activities in the maintenance department. This includes compliance with procedures of DFA as well as outside agencies and customers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operation of assigned maintenance technicians according to cost and quality standards in the department.
- Develop and implement training plans for mechanics to enhance their skills.
- Schedule and assign tasks and/or work orders
- Monitor and adjust staffing levels to ensure efficient support of plant operations
- Foster teamwork consistent with our company and plant Mission, Vision, and Core Values
- Coach and develop teammates, utilizing the performance management system.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Follow all DFA GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements.

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma/GED required. Technical Degree preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Solid working knowledge of refrigeration, electricity/pneumatics, motor controls, building maintenance, plumbing and HVAC
- Experience with processing and packaging equipment and electronic control systems
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley Controls
- Effective written/oral communication
- Understand the proper use of work orders, priorities, scheduling, etc.
- Ability to establish priorities and handle multiple tasks
- Ability to develop strong relationships with all employees, supervisors and managers
- Must demonstrate enthusiastic attitude towards leading change and implementation of systematic processes required to achieve maintenance objectives, which directly support manufacturing excellence
- Must be able to work during 2nd and 3rd shift hours, work hours will be negotiable
- Must be able to read, write and speak English

- Titles of direct report(s) this position will have – Maintenance Technician, Master Maintenance Technician
- Supervisor of entire plant maintenance group on all three (3) shifts.
- Provide support and back-up to the Maintenance Manager and Plant Engineering Manager as needed
