Maintenance Technician I MEADVILLE, PA


Overall Focus: Safely provide prompt response and resolution to equipment failures in order to minimize downtime in the facility. Continually seeks ways to improve skillset while maintaining a high proficiency in mechanical or electrical troubleshooting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•    Production Support
o    Promptly responds to requests from production supervisors for repair of down equipment, and provides a sustainable solution to the problem at hand
o    Provides unwavering customer support to production personnel. Focuses on listening to and translating operator feedback in order to improve operations. Seeks operator input to resolve problems
o    Provide support to production A-operators identified as "adjusters”. Teach "adjusters” how to safely clean and perform preventative and predictive maintenance on his or her machine
•    Maintenance Support
o    Enters work orders into and signs parts out of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), providing detailed accounts of the work completed for future reference
o    Completes scheduled work requests, predictive maintenance work orders, and preventative maintenance work orders by assigned completion date
o    Provides the highest level of mechanical or electrical troubleshooting capabilities
o    Repairs and rebuilds process and packaging equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, etc.)
o    Repairs and rebuilds instrumentation (valves, flow meters, I/P transducers, pressure regulators, etc.)
•    Sanitation Support
o    Assist in lock-out tag-out procedures when necessary.
•    Ensures that the AINSWORTH Food Safety program is adhered to
o    Ensures that all standard operating procedures (SOP's) are being followed
o    Informs Maintenance Manager or production supervisors of any food safety problems
o    Serves as the designee for the Maintenance and Facility Manager in dealing with reported food safety issues or maintenance of the SQF system.
•    Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and job instructions
o    Take corrective actions when measures are out of specification
o    Take and document required process, quality measures
o    Meet or exceed established targets
o    Adhere to all sanitation procedures
•    Follow all GMP's
o    Keep process areas clean and neat
o    Reports all infestation and rodent problems to the Corporate Sanitarian
o    Adheres to sanitation procedures
•    Actively participate as a member of the AINSWORTH Safety Program
o    Follow all safety procedures
o    Report all unsafe actions and conditions

QUALIFICATIONS
(Knowledge and skills necessary to meet organizational objectives)

Education/Training:     High School Diploma or GED

Experience:    1 year of experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial environment.

·         Maintenance Support
o    Enters work orders into and signs parts out of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), providing detailed accounts of the work completed for future reference

o    Completes a root cause analysis of a preventable failure that takes over one hour to fix
o    Suggests/creates preventative or predictive maintenance procedures as a solution to root cause analysis
o    Provides the highest level of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities
o    Repairs and rebuilds process and packaging equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, etc.)
o    Repairs and rebuilds instrumentation (valves, flow meters, I/P transducers, pressure regulators, etc.)
·         Sanitization  Support
o    Assist in lock-out tag-out procedures when necessary.
·         Ensures that the AINSWORTH Food Safety program is adhered to
