Quality Manager - NYC Area
QA Manager role will be responsible for the continued operation of this system at Site. This means implementing set practice, but also stretching yourself and bringing new ideas to the table to improve what we are doing.
The role is responsible for our finished product quality, ownership of facility standards, and ensuring and improving raw material quality across our supply base. Over time, the role will be responsible for recruiting a great team of QC's and QA's.
We will also be looking to this role to help us with compliance specifically on labelling, health claims, allergen declarations, and marketing materials, in accordance with the FDA guidelines, and organising necessary testing schedules around these.
Responsibilities
  • Work in partnership with the Operations teams to ensure Safety, Legality and Quality for the US operation.
  • Operate, maintain and improve the BRC accredited quality system in our NJ facility, and further develop it to fit our ongoing needs.
  • Be responsible for finished product assessment and analysis, and utilising and developing the tools to carry out these assessments.
  • Take key decisions around our finished products for quality or safety, as escalated by the Quality Auditors, once they have been implemented.
  • Ensure our labelling, health claims and allergen declarations are within FDA guidelines on our existing range and new product launches, and develop a testing schedule to ensure continued compliance.
  • Ensure marketing claims stated on our packaging and advertising are also within FDA guidelines.
  • Work with US ingredient suppliers to verify specifications, perform basic site audits, and perform QC on raw ingredients delivered to our site.
  • Build a strong relationship with the Technical Director to make sure the systems are compliant with the Graze Global Technical system.
  • Chair the HACCP team in the US and ensure it our documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Ensure a hygiene system and process is in place and accurate.
  • The usual extras, such as calibration, GMP audits, micro schedule and testing, crisis management training, product assessments and FDA relations.

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a quality management role, preferred 5+ years
