Our client, a financial institution located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, is looking for a SVP/Commercial Lending Manager to join their team.

The SVP/Commercial Lending Manager will be directly reporting to the CEO, and will be responsible for planning and directing the Bank's Commercial Lending program, SBA Lending Program and Loan Servicing Department in conformance with established Bank policies and practices as well as lending laws and regulations.

Develop and implement Commercial Loan programs to ensure an adequate return on invested capital in light of growth and customer service objectives. Directs all commercial loan and SBA origination, processing, and closing activities to provide timely, accurate, and service oriented procedures and organization.

Works closely with Department Managers and assists with supervision of the departments. Works closely with the Bank President to develop new loan opportunities and best practices.

Main responsibilities:
  • Works with Commercial and SBA Managers to hire qualified loan originators. Works with Loan Servicing Manager so ensure conformance with established regulations, documentation preparation and post-loan documentation.
  • Develop and submit to the President specific Commercial and SBA Lending goals and supporting operating plans and programs. Originate and direct the implementation of Bank and department policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the President in analyzing the Bank's commercial and SBA loan portfolios to determine profitability and the impact of current lending practices and procedures on the Bank's profit objectives.
  • Assist the President in analyzing and evaluating current and potential loan investment markets. Implement programs for individual markets to achieve the Bank and department's desired objectives.
  • Continuously appraise the Bank's underwriting policies and procedures. Recommend modifications that may be required by changing market conditions. Remain abreast of pertinent economic and regulatory developments and insure that the Bank's lending practices are in compliance with government regulations.
  • Provide management direction to commercial and SBA mortgage loan origination and loan servicing personnel to ensure that all such activities are performed in an efficient, effective, and customer service oriented manner.
  • Personally originate large and/or more complex commercial loans to ensure accurate, efficient customer service, sound underwriting practices, and compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.
  • Is responsible for maximizing the cost effectiveness of the operations of the commercial lending department.
  • This position is responsible for assisting with all commercial real estate problem credits/asset quality and OREO.
  • Responsible for administering the Commercial Loan incentive and working with the individual market managers to set annual department goals.
  • Is a member of Executive Loan Committee, Management Loan Committee, ALCO Committee, Executive Committee and other committee meeting as needed.
  • Assists Loan Servicing Manager in developing and implementing servicing procedures to assure accuracy and high level of customer service as well as the framework for sound and orderly expansion in both the servicing function and personnel development.

Required Education and Experience

 
  1. Minimum of 12 years of comprehensive commercial lending experience
  2. Previous business development and management experience required.
  3. Strong personnel management and team building skills
  4. Strong background in community banking and commercial lending
  5. Strong knowledge of loan servicing compliance
  6. Solid credit underwriting skills
  7. Proven marketing and recruiting skills
  8. A commitment to community involvement
  9. Previous experience in budget forecasting.
  10. Expertise in compliance and bank regulations

Preferred Education and Experience
 
  1. Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
