Our client a lead provider of disaster recovery and property restoration services is looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team and cover the Queens NY territory.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain client book of business.
  • Primary company contact with property owner clients, insurance claims personnel, and consultants.
  • Provide technical explanations to clients, adjusters, consultants, and others.
  • Develop estimates  including creation of accurate floor plans in Xactimate Sketch.
  • Train and mentor junior estimators.
  • Create accurate multiple sketches with multi-level buildings and roof sketches as well as unit pricing estimates for all construction trades.
  • Meet with municipal inspectors as required.
  • Coordinate after-hours emergency services as directed, including board-ups, water damage, fire and smoke damage, and vandalism.
  • Perform vehicle safety and maintenance inspections.                  
  • Complete accident, injury, & incident reporting forms.
  • Attend company's sponsored operations and safety training courses.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years of construction estimating experience.
  • Residential property estimating experience in excess of $50,000
  • Commercial, industrial, and institutional property estimating experience in excess of $100,000.
  • Working knowledge of property restoration best practices and applicable building codes.
  • Demonstrated Xactimate competence with satisfactory completion of Xactimate advanced training.
  • Level 3 Estimating Platform User Certified.
  • Maintain minimum 90% score on estimate reviews.
  • Naming convention labeling.
  • Possess sense of urgency, professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to identify potential site hazards (asbestos, lead paint, mold, etc.).
  • Satisfactory completion of OSHA Construction 30 hour course.
  • Valid EPA Lead Certified Renovator license.
  • Experience with site-specific safety plans.
  • Willing to work nights and weekends when requested and available for periodic travel.
  • Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per company’s vehicle policy.
  • Experience operating vehicles up to 26,000 GVW and operating truck-trailer combinations.
  • Knowledge of DOT requirements.
  • Frequent lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Sustained periods of standing, walking, bending, an kneeling.
  • Access and mobility in tight spaces.

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Offices programs of Outlook, Excel, and Word.
