Profile
The Release Manager is responsible for planning software, firmware, and hardware releases into test and production environments. They monitor and analyze the production pipeline, and ensure the quality and integrity of releases are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manages the delivery of enterprise level product releases.
  • Serves as a liaison between stakeholders in order to ensure that all targets and requirements are met.
  • Negotiates release dates that are acceptable to stakeholders across functions.
  • Oversees the production pipeline and schedules deployments to minimize downtime for end-users.
  • Ensures predictable, consistent and successful delivery of software releases by defining success criteria upfront to promote alignment, and actively manage to project outcomes.
  • Works collaboratively with technology teams involved in the release process to ensure compliance with defined SLA's.
  • Coordinates with internal and external deployment teams for complex multi-team production migrations and publishes deployment results to leadership team.

·         Ability to effectively communicate ideas in both technical and non-technical terms to stakeholders and leadership.
·         Ability to work with a wide array of teams.
·         Strong organizational and Project Management skills.
·         Must be an influential leader and demonstrate release management professionalism, enthusiasm, and motivation to create a collaborative climate.
Experience
·         Experience overseeing planning and execution of multiple software releases during release cycles.
·         Experience in application development that demonstrates thorough knowledge of the SDLC.
·         Detailed understanding of change, configuration and release management processes based on ITIL.
·         Customer facing experience and presentation skills with executives and end-users (customers).
 
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field with 5+ years of IT-related experience or 3+ years of software release experience
