Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year in appropropriate area

  • Job Descriptions:
  • Types of procedures required.
  • Inpatient: Complete evaluations and treatments on medical, surgical and trauma patients through critical thinking, safe, professional and medically necessary skills. Complete chart reviews including labs values and vital signs, ability to follow up appropriately with nursing and physicians. Ability to work with other therapists across disciplines.
  • Outpatient: To complete evaluations and treatments of non-operative and post operative, trauma, neuro and ortho patients demonstrating critical thinking and splinting skills(OT). To be able to work with other therapists sharing patients if needed for scheduling.
  • Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.: Outpatient- Redoc electronic documenting system, Inpatients- utilize Meditech
  • Required skills and minimum years of experience: Minimum of 1 year in appropriate area to be treating with ability to step in and begin treatments. Demonstrates critical thinking and appropriateness of treatments through appropriate skills.
  • Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required: BLS, PT/OT/ST license
  • Shift or schedule requirements: Off set work schedules for inpatient Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday - Thursday; outpatients Monday- Friday, subject to change based on department needs for coverage
  • Floating to other units/departments: No
  • Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
  • Inpatient: ICU 10 beds, Med/surge about 47 beds
  • Outpatient: 11 patients per day with 1:1 treatments 40 min in length
  • Dress Code: Business casual, inpatient therapists can wear scrubs, no hoods or jeans, closed toed shoes with covered heels
  • Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.
  • Therapist is brought in where they complete an orientation to the hospital, department and floor they will be working on. They are paired with a buddy to help orient and train them for the first couple of days then when ready and cleared by manager they begin treating on their own. If therapist shows proficiency then they will be trained in IMCU and ICU, if appropriate and if therapist is willing.
