Job Description:

  • Required Ultrasound Tech
  • 1 year competency in specialty area and competent in second (Obstetrics and Gynecology; Abdomen; Adult Echocardiology; Pediatric; Echocardiology; Vasc
  • Graduate of an accredited training program in Ultrasonography

General job duties:
  • The Diagnostic Sonographer I under the direction of a qualified physician, radiologist, diagnostic imaging manager, assistant manager, and ultrasound coordinator performs responsible diagnostic procedures by producing, assessing, and evaluating ultrasound images and related data to assist medical practitioners in detection and diagnosis of diseases and injuries
  • Population Served Neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, young adult, middle age, and elderly
  • Obtaining, reviewing, and bringing together pertinent patient history, physical exam, and clinical data
  • Competent knowledge of gross human and sectional anatomy and be able to recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures
  • Provide interpreting physicians with an oral or written summary of technical findings of any age of patient from Newborn to Geriatric
  • Recognize exam results that may require immediate clinical response and notify the interpreting physician or other appropriate physician of sonographic findings
  • Select and operate appropriate ultrasound system and transducer based on age and size of the patient and the objective of the examination
  • Perform sonographic imaging according to policy and procedure utilizing real time gray scale, Doppler, and color Doppler
  • Operate darkroom, daylight, and laser processing equipment
  • Perform clerical duties, filing, scheduling, and reception as needed
  • Contributes to on-going Quality Assurance
  • Orders supplies for the ultrasound department

Equipment utilized:
  • Siemens equipment

  • Registered and at least have one year demonstrated competency in specialty area and competent in second specialty area
  • State license status must be currently active
