Strong SQL (don't need coding, but basically everything up to that point),
Strong Fixed Income experience,
Strong Client Reporting and/or Performance Analysis (benchmarking/attribution)
  1. This is about the mass distribution of reports. All of the parameters are mostly known (e.g. clients and data), it's about matching all of the data elements up , bringing it together cohesively, and distributing. Fixed income needs to productionalize the data and stage it for mass consumption
  2. Skills assessment – screening:
  1. The closer candidates experience is to the front office / portfolio management / portfolio analytics the better
  2. Technical Client need to have solid SQL skills (AND fixed income). SQL is critical in terms of creating efficient routines and also testing the development as a result of requirements the BA is creating.
  3. Need to have in-depth fixed income experience. Not just familiar with the products.
  4. Any experience with reporting modernization, or any infrastructure modernization at a fixed income asset manager would be extremely helpful.
  5. Very important to understand reporting in general.
  6. Need to understand what an indeces
  7. Need to understand the concept of performance reporting
  8. Need to understand the concept of attribution
  9. Need to understand the concept of exposure
  10. Need to understand the concept of Marketing
  11. Understanding of AUM reporting a plus
  12. Knowledge of pre- and post-trade compliance very helpful (NOT regulatory compliance). Understanding of Investment Management Agreements (IMAs)
  13. Experience with Vermillion – huge plus
  14. Experience with Aladdin – huge plus. Experience with other Order Management Systems?
  15. Experience with Seismic (sales enablement software) – huge plus.
  16. Experience with Ceridian RFP system or SalesForce – huge plus. Understanding of other CRM systems?
  17. SharePoint knowledge a plus also
  • Solid grasp of Business Analysis concepts and SDLC methodologies to apply to enhancements and initiatives
  • Strong relationship management, communication, teamwork and influence stills
  • Partner with the business users, IT and external vendors to capture and document BRD/FRD
  • Initiate and manage business process reviews and workflow changes, working with business users, vendors and IT when applicable.
  • Analyze data to help support business requirement gathering and data quality
  • Support day-to-day business issues
  • Analyze and define systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and ensuring a deep understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements to produce functional design specification documents
  • Keep abreast of industry initiatives and market trends that impact the business to continue to improve efficiencies.
  • Assist with internal/external communication, improving transparency and disseminating information

Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Finance or related discipline (Master's a plus)
  • 5+ years experience in project delivery and business analysis
  • Knowledge of the asset management industry is a plus
  • Strong data analytical skills and ability to make independent decisions and develop creative solutions to support business strategies
  • Ability to partner successfully with other parts of the organization to achieve results
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across various levels of an organization
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to write SQL queries and understand relational database models
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and BI tools
  • Experience supporting client reporting a plus.
