What will you do as a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Monthly?

• You'll work with a wide range of systems, processes and technologies to own and solve problems from ideation to launch. For example, building peer-to-peer chat, class-specific learning tools, a mobile app for students and instructors, or a "karma " system for encouraging feedback between students.
• You'll own large-scale technical projects and tech lead a small team of engineers to bring them to complet.
• You'll improve existing features. This includes performance, reliability, and product polish. For example, improving our feed algorithm.
• You'll build and improve processes and tools. For example, dashboards that help us and our teachers see how students are doing and what we should focus on.
• You'll champion code quality, new technologies, and architectural design within the company.
• You'll be a major player in building and shaping the future of online learning.

You may be fit for this role if:

• You've built and maintained web applications or social networks that have reached a large audience, ideally while the product is experiencing rapid growth.
• You've led large-scale 6+ month technical projects at companies with multiple team members and stakeholders.
• You mentor other engineers. You love sharing best practices and supporting the growth of other engineers on your team.
• You love experimenting with new technologies, and you can pick them up quickly. You enjoy learning and are thoughtful about the tradeoffs between technologies.
• You think holistically: Your considerations go beyond engineering and include thinking about what's most effective towards helping students learn and collaborate, what's best for the business, and how to balance speed and craft.
• You are resourceful: You can figure out how to build things you've never built before. You're comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy problem-solving.
• Bonus: You're fluent with React and Python.
