Job Summary:

An Infrastructure Systems Management Windows Server Operation Specialist will provide technical support of all windows servers hosted in being part of a global team. This professional should have proven experience and knowledge of all windows server version OS, Azure (Administration skills), scripting, and skills on VMware servers administration through VCenter. Operational practices as well as good hardware and infrastructure experience to various platforms to support server models mainly from Dell and Client.

Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Provides support for infrastructure services hardware and all server windows operating system flavors from windows 2003 to windows 2016.
  • Work proactively within the operations team on requests created in ticketing tool (Service Now knowledge is a plus), meeting the defined Service Level Agreement criteria.
  • Perform server configuration changes / OS troubleshooting as outlined in Service Now requests.
  • Ensure that the server uptime meets the defined Service Level Agreement and ensure any requested changes are made with due diligence and clear roll back plans.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with other IT Services professionals.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
  • This position requires experience resolving complex incidents in critical environments and vision to identify measure to provide a stable and reliable infrastructure.
  • Need sound troubleshooting experience in windows administration and hands on working experience in a huge MNC infrastructure.
  • In depth windows server OS level and hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Assistance in monthly Microsoft security patching and manual authorized software deployments.
  • Assistance in VM configuration changes mostly related with Disk, RAM, CPU and Network (preferably basic VMware operations knowledge).
  • Server inventory updates into the relevant database.
  • Assistance with issues faced after server builds.
  • Analytical / Decision making responsibilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and be able to prioritize assignments.
  • Provide proactive 24 x 7 support if required.
  • Good working knowledge in windows clustering and preferably technologies like SRDF, AAG, Multi site clusters.
  • Knowledge in Client Management.
  • Very good Experience on windows server OS knowledge to support servers hosted in Azure and Vblock platforms
  • Preferably good process knowledge in ITIL, LEAN etc.
  • Basic scripting knowledge using windows PowerShell.
  • GVM vulnerability management within windows OS.
  • Active participation to resolve high severity P1Sx outage chats.
  • Ready to work individually as well as team and should have good communication skills.
  • Escalates issues to team lead or cross-team staff as required.


Other Requirements:
  • Available for weekend rotation shift and off Hours work.
  • Required to communicate clearly with native and non-native English speakers throughout the world.
  • The job may require to work on different time zone due to global responsibilities.

Educational Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience in IT.

Experience Requirement:
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in Windows Server Operating System Administration

  • Service Now tool knowledge
  • Other similar service management suite knowledge
