Responsibility / Job Description:

  • Ability to independently perform test set-ups, operate and adjust test equipment for shock, vibration.
  • Read and understand testing specifications from pictorial diagrams and schematics, identify and prepare test equipment including electrical set-ups for electrical components and systems.
  • Data collection utilizing vibration/thermal control systems, thermocouples and accelerometers.
  • Operate vibration and shock table.
  • Throughout test process ability to verify, review and document all data.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot basic failures in computer hardware.
  • Interface with Senior Test and design Engineers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of moderately complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to independently perform test set-ups, operate and adjust test equipment for shock, climatics, vibration and electrical tests.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED military training is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand test procedures, technical documents, and schematics to identify and prep test equipment including electrical set-ups.
  • Expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
  • Troubleshoot and repair problems with equipment and systems when required.
  • Familiar with test standards ASTM D4169.

DESIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Operation and maintenance of Shock and Vibration Table.
  • Data collection utilizing vibration control systems and accelerometers, pressure transducers, and data acquisition systems.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ability to read, write, and run simple scripts in Matlab or Python.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
