PURPOSE:

The primary functions of this role are in the areas of general accounting, fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, BS reconciliations, and any other projects that may be assigned. The role will have significant involvement, business process management services partner. The Staff Accountant will play an important role in continually striving for resource optimization within the team.
The Staff Accountant's primary responsibilities include managing the monthly close process for Fixed Assets, reviewing and confirming the accuracy of various monthly reports issued by the Record to Report team, preparing BS account reconciliations, and reviewing and auditing BS account reconciliations prepared by other personnel. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will be assigned ad hoc projects
 
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting. MA or CPA preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Strong analytical skills and judgment.
  • Team oriented, able to work well across the organization as a business partner
  • Strong system skills.
  • Proven record of meeting deadlines and the ability to react to changing business requirements.
  • Ability to complete financial analyses with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Hands-on, Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management.
DIGITAL SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
  • Strong Excel modeling skills, including VLOOKUP formulas and experience working with Pivot Tables and Macros.
  • Knowledge of Oracle R12 is essential.
  • Knowledge of Dell's "Toad for Oracle and IBM's "TM1 applications is preferred.
COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to do a critical review of balance sheet reconciliations and provide meaningful feedback on accuracy & quality.
  • Ability to identify & drive process improvements relating to both onshore & offshore general accounting activities.
  • Ability to apply US GAAP to the areas of: Intangible Assets, Capital Leases, and PP&E.
  • Should be able to build relationships in a multi-cultural environment.
