Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Design modeling studies to quantify clinical and/or economic impacts of healthcare technologies or interventions.
  • Conduct health economic analysis, including but not limited to cost minimization analysis, cost benefit analysis, cost effectiveness, cost utility analysis and budget impact model, using literature, clinical trial data and/or real world database inputs; Improve models according to feedback.
  • Contribute to development of project deliverables, including models, reports, abstracts, manuscripts, and slide decks, as appropriate.
  • Review and critique medical and evidence-based health economic literature & statistical analyses in surgery.
  • Present and interpret findings to cross functional teams, including market access, hospital channel marketing, clinical affairs, biostatistics, market research, clinical and product marketing, and publication teams.
  • Create, publish and maintain reports as well as any necessary ad hoc request.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Skill/Job Requirements:
MUST have:
  • A PhD or Master’s degree in economics, health economics, public health, health policy and management, statistics, operational research or related field; Knowledge of health economic modeling techniques, including decision analysis.
  • Proficient in Treeage, Excel VBA, and/or R.
  • Hand-on experience of cost-effectiveness analysis and/or budget impact analysis
  • Proven ability to write and publish for medical or scientific audiences.
  • Strong skills in data analytics and graphic interfaces.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage personal responsibilities on multiple priorities and/or projects at once.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences; keen business acumen in understanding the needs from customers.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two or more years of experience in economic modeling.
  • Record of publications in health economics, health services research, or clinical journals
  • Hand-on experience of using Markov model and discrete event simulation is desirable.
  • Experience of using Basecase and/or Tableau is preferred.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Visual Basic) is preferred.
  • Experience working in a collaborative project team/environment.
