Job Description:

The Sr Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for the full life cycle development, implementation, production support, and performance tuning of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, BI reporting environments, Big Data platform, and support the integration of those systems with other applications. The responsibilities include: hands-on technical system architecture and implementation, planning the strategic execution of projects, and the management of day-to-day production system operations. 
  • The Sr Analyst should provide oversight of all layers of BI and Big Data architecture, understand business needs, drive requirements, propose solutions and manage the delivery of multiple cross-functional data, reporting and analytic projects and integrations between different systems. Additionally, this role serves as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) to projects and business stakeholders ensuring the architecture and technologies are fit for purpose and works with other architects in the organization to ensure the BI approach is cohesive and coordinated within the overall enterprise application architecture and BI tools.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the main technical expert of data warehouse data architecture industry practices and processes. Architect, design, and implement BI solutions, with complete and accurate data delivered to business users in an automated manner.
  • Establish close partnerships with the business teams to provide data strategy expertise, ensuing overall data quality within all enterprise systems including interfaces between applications
  • Set future state target architecture for the ecosystem of the data warehouse and BI environment in correlation to Master Data Management (MDM) strategy.
  • Lead the advancement of new technologies in the analytics/warehouse space and define patterns for usage (e.g. Data Lake, Hadoop, IoT, AI, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics) versus traditional methods
  • Maintain and document all layers of the current and future state architectures
  • Evaluate, create and deliver on data and reporting needs for enterprise stakeholders and projects, ensuing data integrity and analytical insights.
  • Provide guidance on master data management concepts, metrics, data definitions, and data evaluation and collection methods, in collaboration with internal and external partners on- and off-shore.
  • Assist in establishing and defining data validation, data cleansing, data integration, and transformation practices.
  • Lead design review sessions and exercises around enterprise analytics architecture standards and documentation, including reporting, testing methodology, and data validation
  • Map configurations and complex data architectures, ensuring documentation meets current and forecasted needs.
  • Serve as the main point of escalation for issues requiring external/ vendor support.
  • Work with vendor to validate and refine technical specifications against business requirements, resolve production issues, upgrades, and software evaluations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical fields
  • Minimum 8 years of proven experience with business intelligence and data warehousing with increasing responsibilities. Experience medical devices, biotech, or related environment preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience data modeling – logical, physical, relational and dimensional with a major data modeling tool suite
  • Signification practical hands-on experience with: Enterprise Data Warehouse, Big Data, ETL, Data Analysis, Data Modeling, Enterprise Information Architecture, Metadata Management, Master Data Management & Governance, and Solution Architecture
  • 5+ years’ experience with multiple BI visualization tools such as Tableau, Hyperion or Microsoft Power BI.
  • Expertise with cloud data lake such as AWS, Google or Azure, and corresponding database Redshift, Snowflake, and traditional relational databases SqlServer, MariaDB, MongoDB, NoSQL DB is preferable
  • Exposure to Talend Integration and MDM platform is strongly desirable.
  • Proven experience with relational database normalization, data validation, data hygiene, data cleansing, data consolidation, data enrichment, and DaaS.
  • Experience designing, implementing, growing and supporting business intelligence and data warehouse systems and competencies. Experience leading projects
  • Ability to write clear specifications and requirements through full lifecycle implementation phases such as requirements, design, build and test.
  • Strong and adaptive interpersonal skills with the ability to operate effectively with multiple distinct global business groups and levels within strong matrix organization.
  • Ability to lead autonomously functioning exceptional well under ambiguity and with minimal direction, where influence without authority is the key element for success.
  • Experience working with Agile, Waterfall (or related) project methodologies, and the ability to determine when each is best used.
