Job Description:
The Business Systems Analyst/Engineer assists the Director of NPD Process and Tools in definition, design, configuration, and adoption of new product development processes for the Program Management Office. The Analyst/Engineer will be responsible for collecting customer needs, converting needs to optimized workflows compliant with company procedures, implementation with enterprise tools, and rollout of new business processes and systems. The Business Systems Analyst/Engineer is a hands-on position which will identify and develop procedures that efficiently meet user needs; design and configure enterprise database tools; plan and execute unit, integration and acceptance testing; help drive adoption of new tools; and document systems and best practices. This role also helps develop and lead adoption and change management including training activities for the assigned projects.
Essential Functions
  • Develop and communicate business processes for new product development and portfolio management including resource management
  • Effectively utilize process improvement principles and tools to help us manage resources, reduce costs, maintain and accelerate timelines, and track and execute projects
  • Integrate industry best practices into new tools and processes while protecting company’s culture of innovation and agility
  • Provide leadership on process implementation and adoption, track and resolve action items, and coordinate tasks to deliver new improvements for the organization
  • Support risk management for assigned projects by identifying and evaluating potential issues, developing practical mitigations, and escalating to management when needed.
  • Provide clear internal and external communications relevant to assigned projects including meeting minutes and status
  • Monitor and prepare project quality metrics for periodic review
  • Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university
Experience: Minimum five (5) years of related experience; Database design, enterprise tool administration, or technical trainer experience; Experience with medical devices industry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Ability to act as both a facilitator and operational expert around process, databases, and business integration
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of technical and business experts to convert user needs to simple and efficient process and automated solutions
• Experience with enterprise database systems such as CA PPM/Clarity, Polarion, PTC preferred
• Scripting experience such as Python, JavaScript, SQL, Jaspersoft
• Ability to gather, analyze and synthesize data, reason logically and accurately, and communicate complex data in easy to understand ways to a broad audience
• Excellent presentation skills. Ability to drive change management and adoption of new processes and tools throughout the organization.
• Knowledge of process improvement methodologies, project management tools and best practices
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma helpful
• Must be able to understand and solve issues at a detailed level
• Ability to manage multiple changing priorities and work effectively in a team or independent setting
• Requires the ability of independent decision making based upon current factors related to specifics of each project
