General Manager

 SUMMARY
Responsible for the strategic growth and operation of the business.   As such, directs and coordinates activities of the business which are primarily the strategic planning,
development and management of the business in the U.S.  The General Manager is also a member of the Board of Managers.
 
MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITES (MR'S) and PERFORMANCE STANDARDS (PS's) include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
 
MR. 1. Member of Executive Management Team assisting Management in the Governance and Management of the Company
     PS #1. Provides meaningful recommendations and suggestions for business growth and improvement
     PS  #2. Attends, prepares and gives thoughtful and thorough presentations at Company Board of Directors and Managers meetings
    PS #3. Conducts
ones self as a senior member of management; provides leadership throughout the company; coordinates activities with other senior management personnel as appropriate
     PS #4. Effectively and proactively works with other SAI and CTP Company executives to achieve overall Corporate goals and objectives
     PS #5. Visits CTP and RSC/SMS on a periodic basis; has regular scheduled calls/meetings with SAI and CTP management
 
MR 2. Develop, Measure, Report and Achieve Company assigned Goals and Objectives.
     PS #1. Directs the development of annual goals used for personal and company evaluation purposes
     PS #2. Consistently meets stated goals and objectives, with primary emphasis on orders,
margin and profitability
    PS #3. Monitors annual goals and objectives on a regular basis; proactively makes necessary operational adjustments and revisions as appropriate to meet them; reports on goals performance on a regular basis
     PS #4. Directs the development of the annual Plan, including orders, sales and operating expense budgets
    PS #5. Prepares thorough monthly reports on activities to SAI and CTP management on a timely basis
    PS #6. Reviews monthly financial statements and job cost schedules/worksheets; takes appropriate action as required
     PS #7. Assists in the preparation of updated financial forecasts on a regular basis
 
MR 3.  Responsible for Strategic Planning
     PS #1. Works with staff to produce strategic plan(s) to promote and sell products and systems, as well as aftermarket spare parts and services 
    PS #2. Regularly reviews and evaluates best sales channels including use of external distribution,
consultants and representatives
     PS #3. Provides input on new products,
systems and processes, and participates in R & D efforts as necessary
    PS #4. Regularly reviews sales organization and staff structure; proposes changes to meet strategic goals
     PS #5. Provides information on market and industry developments
     PS #6. Provides information on competitors and their products
     PS #7. Develops and suggests innovative ways to create sales
 
MR 4.  Plans, directs, coordinates and executes activities.
     PS #1. Provides direction to sales and support staff in order to meet the strategic plan and operating goals
     PS #2. Reviews and approves all project pricing and project cost estimates
     PS #3.  Holds regular meetings with staff
     PS #4. Develops and utilizes sales reporting and other communication and measurement tools to monitor activities
     PS #5. Visits customers and has personal involvement in projects as necessary
     PS #6. Reviews information on closed jobs including margin and cost information
     PS #7. Approves purchases of third party materials for projects
     PS #8. Ensures processes and procedures are done in conformance with Company guidelines and quality standards
     PS #9. Approves all major expense expenditures
                                
MR 5.  Develops, supports, and evaluates staff.    
     PS #1. Employs personnel sufficiently experienced, knowledgeable and motivated to represent the company and achieve Company goals and objectives.
     PS #2. Provides continuing training and motivation of personnel; provides new product,
systems and other training as necessary.    
     PS #3. Develops performance measurements (order and quotation targets, cost reduction goals, etc.) and provides continual feedback
     PS #4.  Ensures performance reviews are completed in a timely fashion
     PS #5.  Is responsible for and approves all employee or temporary staff changes
     PS #6. Works closely with Corporate (Lansing) HR to ensure all regulatory and Company guidelines are followed
 
MR 6.  Oversees and Directs Sales, Promotion and Marketing activities
     PS #1. Approves annual conference, show, exhibition and advertising schedule, including budgetary cost; participates in shows,
exhibitions and conferences as appropriate              
     PS  #2. Approves advertising and literature/brochures
     PS #3. Together with other personnel reviews social media awareness and the company's website content as well as website "hits”
     PS #4. Approves and coordinates the annual Marketing and Sales Plan; periodically reviews such and makes changes as appropriate
     PS #5. Tracks sales activity including
inquires, quotations, hit rates and recommends changes or corrective action to improve results
 
MR 7.  Maintains high profile and technical expertise in the marketplace
     PS #1. Maintains membership and personal participation in appropriate industry organizations in North America; requires similar involvement from sales and other staff.
     PS #2.  Maintains
network of colleagues and competitors appropriate to furthering the overall directions of the industry.
     PS #3. Continually extracts marketplace data helpful to adjusting content and direction of strategic sales plans.
     PS  #4.  Regularly visits customers
     PS #5. With staff, stays current on leading technologies; attends third party seminars and classes as necessary
    
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises up to 5 employees.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations' policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; minimum 10 years experience and/or training; experience in the environmental market or in one of the company's core target industries; existing management or leadership position experience.  Additional education (courses, seminars) or experience would include:
