Facility Services Team Leader

EG Workforce Solutions is currently hiring a Full-time, 2nd & 3rd shift Janitorial Team Leader at Amway Corporate Headquarters. This Janitorial Team Leader manages and leads a team of 8-12 custodians. This team will work in various areas of the facility to assure that areas are cleaned and maintained in compliance with sanitation regulations and requirements.

The Team Leader will be scheduled M-F. The right individual for this role will have experience in both custodial and supervisory leadership. A typical day involves giving direction to cleaning team, conducting walkthroughs, providing coaching, and completing specialty projects. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
  • Take a leadership role in assuring that each cleaning area is satisfactorily staffed, that teams are prepared/trained, understand safety standards, have the correct supplies, tools and equipment to perform their job to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Assure that assigned work areas are cleaned to standards by doing daily walkthrough of entire assigned area after cleaning is completed.
  • Take special care to personally assure the satisfactory and timely completion of corrective action, special requests, high profile work, and other projects and activities.
  • Perform assigned cleaning projects as scheduled and custodial duties as required.
  • Demonstrates team leadership, & positive, effective communication skills, while acting as the team's primary mentor, coach, and contact & communications conduit.
  • Be a positive, cooperative, & supportive in communicating and working with the janitorial team, building residents and customer facilities staff. Report work orders for the maintenance staff to your Assistant Manager on a daily basis, escalating emergency work orders as soon as possible.
  • Completes required work communication (Daily Logs, checklists, etc.) and documentation (GMP check sheets etc.) as required on a timely basis.
  • Assure staff is making proper use and care of supplies and equipment.
  • Check email at least at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Other duties as identified & assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Experience in building maintenance and/or custodial services are highly desirable.
  • Ability to work with computers, simple machinery and cleaning equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, lead, and direct the work of custodial staff.
  • Ability to communicate well and relate positively with customer facility staff & building residents.
  • Must be a strong team player and coach, working cooperatively with the entire cleaning team.
  • Must meet requirements to drive a company vehicle.
  • Demonstrated ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while working within established parameters.
