Machine Electricians

We are seeking a direct hire Machine Electrician to assist in the manufacturing of quality blowmolding machine, auxiliary equipment and all sub-assemblies with the use of power and hand tools, precision tools, and any other required equipment by performing the following duties. The Machine Electrician is an essential piece of our production operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and Company safety standards.
  • Build or manufacture to drawing, bill of material, all items to established production quality and quantity as scheduled.  Proficient use of precision measuring equipment.
  • Assist with training of employees when necessary.
  • Assist customers/vendors with phone or site consultation when necessary.
  • Responsible for maintenance/repair of building/installed equipment or new equipment as assigned.
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance and good housekeeping to insure good quality and continuation of safe operation.
  • Assist in other departments as temporary assignment
  • Confer with supervisors, engineering, production personnel or others to resolve manufacturing problems.  Report shortages of parts, tools, and materials in a timely manner.
  • Operate power equipment and material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.).
  • Must have personal hand tools to perform tasks effectively.
  • Ability to use mainframe computer.
  • Develop specifications from general description and draw sketch of part or product to be manufactured.
  • Ability to work with metric and inch system.
  • Responsible for submitting daily time accounting and payroll information or other paperwork requested.
LEVEL I: Wire sub assemblies, cabinets, and final machine assemblies using routings, drawings and bill of material with supervision or assistance from other employees.  Capable of understanding basic drawings and bill of material.  Documents changes as needed on drawings, bill of material and routing.  Assists with layout and prototype of electrical components, wireways, and conduit.  Familiar with and uses electrical fittings and fasteners.  Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Minimum requirements of twenty-five (25) credits and two (2) years experience job related and/or equivalent to fulfill the requirements of Level I.
LEVEL II: In addition to the requirements of Level I, should understand and apply drawings, schematics and bill of material.  Performs machine startup, checkout, and troubleshooting.  Capable of making hand drawings.  Performs all task with minimal or no assistance.
Journeyman Industrial Electrician or fifty (50) credits and eight (8) years experience job related and/or equivalent to fulfill the requirements of Level II.
LEVEL III: In addition to requirements of Level I and Level II, has full knowledge of machine and sub assembly wiring, startup, checkout, and troubleshooting.  Process knowledge helpful.  Assists department supervisor with meeting predetermined schedule and development of future schedules, including coordination of Client and projects assigned.  Performs all tasks with minimal supervisory and/or engineering assistance.  Leadership quality helpful.

Ability to read, analyze, technical procedures and appropriate codebooks, machine tool, and NEC knowledge.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors or managers.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
