Payroll Clerk

Location: Battle Creek, Michigan
EG Workforce Solutions has a Part Time Payroll Clerk position in Battle Creek.  Pay is $11.00/hr.  Must be able to work partial days on Monday and Friday with flexible but consistent schedule during the other work days.

Job Duties:
  • Maintain database information for internal reporting on employee training, reviews and pay changes, bonus programs, and ACA requirements.    Execute, Print, and distribute employee information and training reports with MS Access programs.
  • Payroll Processing for 150+ employees using Paychex Services and software
    • Upload hours from Point Of Sale System to Paychex
    • Add/Update employee information in payroll and employee tracking systems
    • Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, benefits withholding, payroll deductions, garnishments and levies, flexible spending accounts, vacation time, bonus payments, etc.
    • Manage direct deposits and Payroll paycard set up
    • Audit all required approvals are completed for timesheets, new hires, and payroll changes
    • Execute, Print, and distribute payroll reports from Paycheks
    • Provide payroll information in response to questions and requests
    • Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedure
  • Communicate Uniform updates/changes to uniform rental company
  • Prepare Insurance census for open enrollment
  • Reconcile Payroll deductions to employee costs paid by company for insurance benefits, flex accounts, shoe purchases, and uniform rentals
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by maintaining confidentiality of all information
  • Contribute to team effort through consistent accomplishment of tasks
  • Provide accounting support to other finance personnel.
  • Participate in end of month closing and audits

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • 1+ Year Payroll experience
  • Excellent computer skills, including Paychex software and  Microsoft Office (Excel, Word. Access and Outlook)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Aptitude for numbers and exceptional commitment to accuracy
  • Team-player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
