Reline Associate

EG Workforce Solutions is looking for a Relining Associate in the Relining Department at a local Battle Creek Company in the Fort Custer Area.  The schedule is 6:00am - 2:30pm and the pay is $13.50/hr.

Position Summary:
The Relining Associate is responsible for the removal and installation of polyurethane wear linings within mass finishing equipment; provides support for the quality refurbishment of mass finishing capital equipment thru the effective and safe replacement of polyurethane wear liners.

Essential Functions:
Safety
  • Follows all Company safety policies and procedures and works in a responsible manner so as not to create a health and safety hazard to oneself or others.
  • Wears the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as designated by area/department.
Quality
  • Maintains a quality mind-set at all times to ensure a best-in-class product and unsurpassed customer satisfaction.
  • Notifies his/her Team Leader of all non-conformances to ensure corrective action and preventive measures are taken.

Business Operations
  • Collaborates daily with the Department Team Leader to ensure the accurate and timely completion of production orders.
  • Inspects and documents the condition of all incoming units.
  • Disassembles the unit in preparation for the removal of the lining.
  • Loads and unloads the burn out oven.
  • Inspects the unit for damage following the sandblasting process.
  • Prepares the unit for lining by setting the mold.
  • Operates the polyurethane dispensing machines.
  • Removes the mold from the unit after the unit has cured.
  • Trims the unit to ensure that all drains, doors, gates, and screens are properly fitted.
  • Records labor hours and material(s) for each job, per department procedure and requirements.
  • Operates the burn off oven.
  • Sandblasts the unit following burn off.
Non-Essential Functions:
  • Maintains a neat, orderly, and organized work area at all times.
  • Operates forklift and overhead crane, as needed.O
  • Coats all metal surfaces with primer in preparation for lining in the absence of the Painter.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
  • May be temporarily rotated to other positions within and outside of home department in order to meet production needs.
Job Specifications:
Education & Experience
  • Minimum completion of 2-years within a vocational school or technical college; or minimum of 2-years of hands-on mechanical experience within a capital equipment manufacturing environment is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail in all aspects of assigned work.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Experience working with, and the ability to read measuring devices such as a ruler and measuring tape is required.
  • Experience working with hand-powered tools.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry-out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate equipment, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to talk and hear; frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, and crawl.
  • Frequently required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally subject to loud noise and, at times, noise level may require the employee to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
