Hours: 12 hour shifts; Thursday - Sunday the first week then Friday - Sunday the next week.
SUMMARY:The Associate II is responsible for ensuring optimum production in the ceramic media shaping department by performing the settings and calibration of the shaping equipment. This role prepares and installs the shaping tools in preparation for the production process; provides hands-on instruction and mentor-ship to the Associate I.

Duties:
Performs the optimum set-up and calibration of the media shaping production equipment. • Prepares and installs the shaping tools for the media shaping process. • Ensures the product, at all times, meets quality standards and specifications. • Listens for and is cognizant of equipment failures to proactively reduce downtime; eliminates potential equipment faults to ensure overall optimization of the production processes. • Performs basic troubleshooting techniques for malfunctions and to determine the need for adjustment or repairs; reports any malfunctions to the Team Leader. • Makes equipment adjustments and completes the preventative maintenance checklist, as scheduled. • Coordinates shift change-overs to ensure no delay and/or disruption in the department workflow. • Receives and coordinates the delivery of raw materials within the department. • Monitors the inventory of the media mass and spare parts and notifies the Team Leader when the stock is low; utilizes calipers and other measuring devises to validate specifications. Assists and mentors the Associate I by providing ongoing instruction and guidance. • Loads carts into the dryer • Assists with maintaining the cleanliness of the production equipment and overall work area. • Records labor hours and material(s) for each job, per department procedure and requirements.

Education & Experience:
High school diploma/GED High degree of mechanical aptitude is preferred Ability to trouble shoot and perform basic equipment maintenance Previous machine operation and/or manufacturing experience is preferred.
