Key Responsibilities:
  • Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices.
  • Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
  • Fills orders or issues supplies from stock.
  • Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock.
  • Run reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.
  • Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.
  • Distributes stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued.
  • Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.
  • Cuts stock to size to fill order.
  • Moves or transports material or supplies to other departments.
  • Maintains inventory and other stock records.
  • Run reports to verify shipment counts per carrier.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear and smell. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and minimum of 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training.
  • Valid CA driver's license.
  • Ability to use a PC with Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience performing data entry into an ERP system such as Oracle.
  • Hazardous Materials and/or Dangerous Goods certifications desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to use a pallet jack and dolly.
  • Well organized and must have good communication skills
Interaction with Other Employees (level of contact, purpose and frequency)
  • Frequent contact with Production Leads/Supervisors to clarify issues.
  • Frequent contact with Production personnel to complete stock transaction forms and data entry.
  • Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
