Program Manager - Exempt

Job Description:
  • Responsible for managing, directing and planning one or more than one, complex programs consisting of one or more project teams.
  • Responsible for coordinating, scheduling and assigning project tasks, teambuilding, maintaining working relationships with client functional areas outside of IT.
  • This role is also responsible for coordination of technical design.
  • Estimation, scope and requirements are integral duties of the program manager.
  • Adheres to company standards, applies project development methodologies and reporting techniques to indicate project status.
  • The Program Manager is the primary contact point to the customer on all projects.
  • Manage Stakeholder relationships by ensuring stakeholder expectations are understood and managed accordingly.
  • Manage stakeholder communications & participation.
  • Promote effective individual and team performance.
  • Act as primary point of contact to handle project issues as well as manage changes to project scope.
  • Having a strong customer focus.
  • Manage the development and execution of a project by adhering to a defined project management methodology.
  • Ensure the work of the project, including requirements and deliverables, are clearly defined.
  • Control the project, in part, by leveraging formal change management. Identify and mitigate risk.
  • Confirm program success criteria and manage accordingly.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and control project performance.
  • Use developed verbal/written communications, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Qualifications:
  • Experience required in virtual project management for a global organization.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies and how they integrate.
  • Possess an introductory understanding of application programming, database, system design, internet, extranet, intranet & client/server architectures.
  • Ability to build consensus, influence others and negotiate compromise.
  • Be a true "team player " that enjoys challenges and is highly motivated, self-directed and results oriented.
  • PMI CAPM, PMP and/or ITIL certification required or committed to acquiring within a 2 year period from date of hire; ITIL a plus.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience required.
