Business Analyst

This role is for a rapidly growing, private company in the medical device space and is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to take our work flow processes and reporting capabilities to the next level.  The Business Analyst will have a dual role in managing data and delivering comprehensive reporting to support company-wide needs as well as responsibility maintaining and developing efficiencies in processes and development of business applications to support efficient work-flow and enhanced data integrity.
Reporting & Data Management
  • Work closely with Customer Service on data management, including auditing and resolving data integrity issues
  • Generate and manage reports for the entire company including Executive management , Marketing  and Sales management and  Operations
  • Actively participate in strategic analysis of data with sales management, including making recommendations on improvements to business processes, sales productivity and revenue initiatives
  • Create and manage reporting accessibility to ensure efficient and accurate flow of data to various entities: executive management, product managers, customer service and sales distribution
  • Provide the sales team with monthly and ad hoc performance reports at the individual, regional and global level for a wide range of performance metrics
  • Support strategies to develop billing, commission and payment processes
  • Assists in development of business models, product unit forecasting, financial forecasting tools and inventory management tracking
  • Maintain critical documentation such as Sales organizational charts, territory maps, system alerts, system specifications, etc.
 
Systems and Process Management
 
  • Manage several new projects including development of a robust customer database
  • Strong analytical and process modeling skills and the ability to apply problem solving techniques to complex business scenarios
  • Recognize improvements for streamlining workflow through SQL queries and programming
  • Manage ongoing evaluation of systems and suggest changes or upgrades as needed
  • Become the company’s systems expert to push the limits of system capabilities and deliver powerful data to support business strategies
  • Partner with our outsourced IT department to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
Technical Skills
  • At least 4 year of experience with understanding relational database concepts and experience creating queries to perform data analysis
  • At least 4 years of experience with data query tools and knowledge of database structures
  • Advanced skills in Excel (Pivot tables, VLookup, Macros, If Statements and Formulas), SQL (writing select, insert into, update and delete statements), SQL Reporting Service (SSRS – report design & development), Crystal Reports, MS SharePoint, MS Visio and other MS Office platforms
Other Requirements
  • Experience in the medical device industry preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively address all levels within the organization; ability to work with a team and independently
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic, start-up environment
  • Must be willing to take on other responsibilities and wear multiple hats as the company continues to grown
  • Must have the ability to think beyond the established processes to drive continuous improvements
