DEPARTMENT/TEAM DESCRIPTION
Scientific Communications and Education is part of the Oncology Strategic Business Unit, blending the science with brand strategy through creation and maintenance of key scientific messages. These messages are disseminated through publications, healthcare professional educational events, online education, and other multi-channel strategies to create a surround sound of pivotal scientific messages.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Oncology Scientific Communications specialist coordinate the Oncology Pipeline global scientific communications efforts for Bayer's oncology portfolio, involving cross-functional, multinational internal experts and outside partners, and ensuring integration and alignment of education, training, publication, congress, MSL and KOL plans.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Be responsible for managing the pipeline congress plan, including planning and tracking of submissions and approvals for global and local medical/legal/regulatory review.
• Support the Pipeline Scientific Communications Lead in coordinating and maintaining the Though Leader Engagement plan and analytics for Oncology Pipeline areas, as needed.
• Lead in directing the development and implementation of global communication strategies and plans in consultation with marketing, medical, clinical development, clinical investigators, opinion leaders and external partners.
• Leads the translation of the scientific data into relevant product communication topics and resources.
• Support the Pipeline Scientific Communications Lead in the planning, development and implementation of global workshops, advisory boards and other stand-alone scientific educational programs that generate important information to guide ongoing communications efforts to the global medical and scientific community.
• Lead the planning and development of core medical/scientific liaison materials globally for local implementation for the Pipeline, with assistance from the Pipeline Scientific Communications Lead as needed.

REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES
Education Requirement(s): PharmD/PhD/MD
Skill & Competency Requirements:
• 2+ years of Medical Affairs experience with a pharma company or 2+ years with a medical communications agency
• Must be a team player and able to interface with internal and external stakeholders in accordance with Bayer's LIFE values
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with ability to multi-task
• Ability to handle various projects simultaneously, and prioritize appropriately
• Positive can do attitude with collaborative mindset and high degree of responsibility and accountability
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook
• Superior verbal and written communication skills

Preferences: Experience working with cross-functional teams

• Oncology experience
• Ability to work in the SharePoint environment
