Technical Operations Analyst

The Technical Operations Analyst is responsible for ensuring successful application deployments, day to day management of the CMDB, perform various business-as-usual tasks, monitor application servers, and assist with technical problem resolution.
This position involves support of multiple systems and integration points within the environment ensuring that the business applications are operational, functioning correctly, and performing at peak efficiency.

Key Accountabilities / Deliverables
  • Responsibly for regular deployments of key application systems
  • Manually perform maintenance tasks for supported applications
  • Ensure the CMDB is maintained and kept up-to-date
  • Read, interpret, and apply technical instructions
  • Assist in reviewing and approving change requests in a timely manner
  • Responsible for championing increasing levels and task automation and control across IT
  • Ensure IT operational documentation, build documents, processes and procedures are completed and maintained to a high standard
  • Ensure IT standards, audit and compliance requirements and controls are understood and followed
  • Ability to work within an ITIL framework
  • Assist IT Security in maintaining an appropriate IT security policy
  • Respond to support incidents and requests for service in a timely manner
  • Assisting IT support and software developers in troubleshooting and resolving problems with software products to ensure that a resolution is found in a timely manner
  • Execute SQL Server queries as required for deployments or incident resolution
  • In addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the company may reasonably require
Specifications:
  • College degree in the field of computer science, information technology, or related field and/or 5+ years relevant IT work experience
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly, be proactive, and actively keep abreast of new technologies and techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple activities simultaneously, and work to deadlines
  • Excellent problem analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Technical Knowledge and Understanding
Required:
·         Knowledge of Windows Server 2008 - 2016
·         Knowledge and understanding of general infrastructure components
·         Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and root cause analysis
·         Familiarity with ITIL methodology and software tools related to the principles
·         Knowledge of System Monitoring Solutions and Alerts, preferably SolarWinds and Dynatrace

Experience
Required:
  • Experience with .NET or web based application and concepts
  • Working knowledge of database management systems (primarily SQL Server 2008/2012)
  • General experience with MS Windows and MS Office products, to include SharePoint
Preferred:
  • Experience working in the insurance domain
  • Familiarity with Guidewire ClaimCenter, V8 and V9
  • Familiarity with Duck Creek Policy V6
  • Experience with ServiceNow, including CMDB and Discovery applications

Due to the geographically dispersed nature of the company and IT teams it may require a degree of out of hours working and some travel may be required.
